Component Identification thread

Hey, don't think I've ever seen something like this, and I'd hate to clog up the board with another 'what is this' thread, so let's make this thread for help identifying components. I'll start, I have some TO-3's here from RCA marked 64129 CO 448. I can't for the life of me find any dox on them. I figure the top is a date code, but I'm not sure.

All metal cases are like that. See on this one how the base pin leads directly to the case, while the c and e are insulated

Um, wrong. The case is ALWAYS the collector. The base has very little current flow, thus very little heat to dissipate. All of the juice flows through the collector. Same rule for TO-3P, TO-220 etc.

My 1992 Thomson SK replacement book (!) lists SK9262 as a suitable replacement. Specs are:NPN silicon HV Switching
175W
15A iC
5A iB
400Vce
8Vbe
15-50MHz fT

This is why us oldfags still have books. Hope this helps you.

Also, 64129 is the part number. 448 is the date code as in the 48th week of 1974.

No idea, but BTxxx-600D would mean a 600V triac or scr, made by Philips (NXP).
I'd check the PCB to see how it's driven and choose some random largish triac/scr based on that.

is (was) the part number. Check the rest of the circuit to see what it was driven by. This may give some insight as to what you have there. The fact that it doesn't have a mounting hole through the case may help narrow your choices. Sorry I can't offer more help than this.

what is this?
or more importantly where can i get more of it?

i connect it to 6x9mm tubing and a pressure tap of ArmField Fluid Friction Apparatus.
Tried finding information but no luck.
