>>894127Its orange peel. Also if your painting surface isnt flawless. The flaws will show through. Pretty simple really. You will need to color sand one way or another. At least to 2000 then colorbuff.
Never use glossy color coat. Always matte then use a clear coat of the desired effect. Matte, satin, gloss.
Rusto matte for color. Krylon crystal clear ACRYLIC for clearcoat. Orr pic related for stronger finish.
Basecoat I thought I had it all figured out... But rustos automotive basecoat is shit.. It sticks to the metal and plastic surfaces. But for the damn life of me cant get their colors to actually STICK to it. Basically when it gets dinged or scatched the clear/color kinda chips off. Leaving the base coat behind untouched.
If you need a chemical resistance... Rusto color matte. Let it fully cure for 2 days after final coat. Then use pic related over it... This stuff has a yellow color too it just ever so slightly. So whites will look discolored and stained abit. But greens/blacks/reds come out allright. Light coats of this stuff only... And yes it takes 24 hours between cures and a final cure time of a total of a week.
Buttt... Rustos enamel gloss paint? Took a YEAR for it to harden enough where my finger nail didnt make a dent! Id take a week over that anytime...
Plus this stuff kinda laughs at gasoline.. I covered a steel square stock and submerged it in a jar half full of gasoline and sealed it in for 3 days straight. Didnt even stain... With rusto blue matte color coat underneath the clear..
But this shits expensive and if your part isnt seeing harsh chemicals. Go with the Krylon crystal clear ACRYLIC!
