Hi /diy/
Premise: I'm a complete electronics illiterate. Basically I need a device that will discharge 2x AA batteries (in series, so 2.4V) at 3A, with cutoff at 1.8V. I already have a battery charger for my RC but its max discharge rate is 1A on NIMH batteries, and I don't want to get a new one because money, plus it would be fun and I could learn stuff.
How would I go about building this? Would it be expensive? What parts do I need? Is there some stuff I can read? I can do basic soldering, I built a basic battery holder with banana plugs to connect to my charger (pic related).
If math doesn't fail me, discharging 2.4V at 3A means I need a 0.8Ω, 3.6W+ resistance? Can't find them anywhere though.
Help
