So, the inspector says I need new gas lines in my house. Says they are corroded. The house is over 100 years old. He says I have to use black iron pipe. I ask if I can use sch40 316 stainless. He says no, local code forbids csst gas line. I explain that I meant solid stainless, not csst. He gets confused look and says I must be mistaken. I say no I really mean solid stainless. He says that code only allows black iron for gas line.
Could I get away with disregarding this dumb ass and just install sch40 stainless anyway. I know its expensive, 2 Benjamin's and a Grant for 10ft. But I really want Stainless.
