Modern fourbars are cheap as shit, and they're glued together: screws (and screwing) cost too much. There'll be a bunch of posts growing out of each side, that're dipped in solvent just before the case is pushed together.
Best and quickest way is to drill out the red cover for the light, destroy the light, then make good the hole by plasti-welding a plastic plate of the same type and color.
There'll be a recycling logo on it somewhere; that'll tell you what type of plastic it is. Then just go to poundland or have a look in your recycling bin for some plastic that's the same.
You can weld plastic with a soldering iron (but it'll fuck the tip for regular soldering), or you can use a screwdriver heated on a gas hob.
If you don't want to fuck with the electricals, just replacing the red window with some opaque plastic, or even just gluing some over the top of it., will make it much dimmer.
