We here at 4chan are deeply sorry if this affected you in a harsh manner. You encountered NSFW content because you are actually on a NSFW board! I know this seems all really confusing as there is no text on the board itself that reads "NSFW" but this is where the 4chan background system comes into effect! If you see a tan-ish color the background it is considered a NSFW board, where as if you see a blue-ish color in the background it is, in fact, SFW. We, again, apologize for the inconvenience that this caused you and we encourage you to join the experience and community in some of the SFW boards such as /a/ or /n/ (if you're feeling adventurous).
