>>10545823yeah man the manga is pretty great as far as shounen go, especially for how dumb everyone makes it out to be. kishimoto drew tons of inspo from all sorts of cool folktales and myths and stuff, and the story is mostly super solid imo. tbh if the anime was redone in the style of fma:b (no filler, consistently good animation, accelerated to ~200 episodes or so total) it would pretty easily jump into my top 5 or so. that said i have been reading this since i was like ten, so i am a little biased.
