I'm using a cheap nylon laptop bag which doesn't look too professional, and I owe it to myself to upgrade. I'm looking for a quality leather briefcase. I want something robust, being able to survive a lifetime of use.

they cheapened the quality of their leather, and the cutting of it too (which is just as important) and have been selling it as "naw, naw it's ALL good! it's 100% top grade shit!"

bought a filson 256 in tan
it's dirty as fuck, sturdy as fuck, but has no mexican leather (fucking lol) pretentions and is about as heavy as you'd want for a practical bag

saddlebag panders to a certain sub group in society
don't be part of it

You have decent taste but you will need to spend more for what you want

Unless you're buying vintage, but that's a crapshoot
Or if you'll compromise and get something more reasonably priced
