The jacket shouldn't be the centerfold of your fit. It shouldn't be like "hey, look, here's my leather jacket - look how badass I am." This is why the leather jacket has gotten this "fedora-tier" stereotype - because people wear it with this mindset.
Instead, it should be well-worked-into your outfit. You don't want people to notice your leather jacket first; the fact that it's leather should almost be a second observation, if at all, after they notice your entire fit.
