I've recently started looking at Canada Goose jackets and holy hell are they expensive. Just had some questions.

Q: Is there a fall jacket that is similar in style to the Canada Goose? I like the style of the jacket, but I'm not sure what the style is particularly called.

Q: Is there a company that is a little more affordable with that type of jacket style?

They're parkas. Lots of places sell parkas for much cheaper. With Canada Goose you're paying for the down/fur, basically. They're meant to withstand very extreme temperatures meaning they're VERY hot to wear so if you're not in a very cold climate I wouldn't recommend them anyway.

Fishtail parkas. They're really popular now.
Or just find a cheaper (and therefore lighter) parka lined with faux fur.

The good thing about good quality down is it regulates your body temperature a lot better than synthetic materials, meaning their comfortable temperature range is much larger than synthetic jackets. Canada goose jackets are usually more of a winter thing, rather than autumn, where you can usually get away with a jacket with little to no padding assuming you have a decent sweatshirt or something. If you're still wanting a down parka but a little cheaper, look at the Peak Performance Henry Parka, any north face down parka, as well as Woolrich if you're in the US. Out of these I would recommend Woolrich. They're on the cheaper side of down jackets, and they will keep you warm down to some pretty low temperatures and at the same time being comfortable to wear in autumn. As always check sales and ebay.
