The only thing i would have from what you posted is your phone, scarf and maybe your jeans.

Everything else is pretty terrible.

Head yo uniqlo and pick up some plain supima or dry packaged tee's.

They also sell slim/skinny tapered jeans in black.

Buy a bomber jacket - alpha industries tt

Buy some plain white trainers - stan smiths for example

Voilla you are now dressed by the internet.

But seriously, the shoes, hoodie things, graphic t and jumper are terrible.

Read the sticky and check out /r/malefashionadvice on reddit for basic info but don't get suckered into their heritage aesthetic.

Here's an idea of the type of clothes I was going to "start" buying in hopes to upgrade my wardrobe and be more "fashionable".

As for the hair pic, that's my hair now. Long and parted down the middle. I think my face is too round for short hair.

Any hair tips as well?

You're not going to look bad in a basic tee. You're not going to look bad in a bomber if you're not fat. Everyone goes through a phase pretending they're James Bond. You'll grow out of it. Don't buy trousers that aren't crafted for long term wear. Don't buy cheap unless it's uniqlo. Asos is fast fashion just like H&M and Zara, there's nothing wrong with it, but fast fashion breaks fast.

you have the right idea with getting slimmer/tailored pants, basic oxford shirts, and well fitted sweaters. I'm sorry if I'm beating you into what is essentially the /fa/ mold but you should cut your sides a lot enough where you can put your hair behind your ears but not go past where your hair starts on your neck. You could bear to cut at least like 4-5 inches off the top and feel it out if you want to take more off the top then slick it back or comb it over.

First of all read, the sticky.

After that, get yourself a copy of the Esquire Handbook of Style. It's not complete #menswear, but read it with a grain of salt regardless. It will give you a good introduction to formalwear, which I'm assuming you don't have an incredible grasp on because you just got out of high school.

You must understand how a particular piece "belongs" with you in a stylistic sense. Too many people are dominated by the isolated appearance of a piece of clothing they happen upon, and, after buying it, are all of a sudden disappointed when they come to realise that it goes against many of their subconscious stylistic values.

Envision your aesthetic. Understand why it appeals to you. Learn how pieces interact in an outfit. Buy only what you know you will keep.

Keep a style journal. Note down prices. Debate pros and cons with yourself. Write short essays on your personal style. I've done it. It works.
