The perk of being physically fit and working out regularly is that you GET to eat junk food once in a while. But at the same time most people don't realize that two or three slices of white bread is virtually identical to a Snickers bar for calorie and carb counts. Orange juice is virtually identical to a can of soda in terms of sugar load- oh sure, vitamins, but you can get vitamin C from a lot of places.
There's junk food, and then there's athlete food. If you're not an athlete things like pasta, white rice, and other refined carbs really should not be something you eat on anything approaching a regular basis.

Especially when they've been hydrolyzed, processed, and refined to the point that they bear little resemblance to their original form. Remember, unprocessed lard has a better balance of fat than your typical store bought butter.
Most people have a bigger problem managing their intake of carbs than they do managing their intake of fat. Fat's easy. These days something to the tune of 80% of consumer food products have one form of added sugar or another.
