Anyone else use these shoes for lifts?

I avoided Adidas and Nike because I hate paying more money for a brand name.

You sound like a beginner OP. Here are a few tips.

These shoes, if use properly (only in the gym and nowhere else), and cared for will last you 5-7 years, so the price isn't unfair.

You needn't be using these shoes until you've been lifting SS for a few months anyway. You can use any flat sole shoe until you start stressing more weight.

Those are almost fundamentally contradictory goals.
A lot of people point to the heel lift, but the rigidity and non-compressibility of the sole is actually the primary quality of a lifting shoe.
The only way to even come close to doing both is some kind of "barefoot" shoe.

I wouldn't trust a company that would try to market this dreck.

Get Rogue/Pendlay Do Wins. They're only a little more expensive and I'd trust them much more.

i was seriously thinking about getting these but their memey crossfit name turned me off. also the fact that the first run soles were so shitty they had to redesign them. got pic related instead

also since i dont do actual oly lifts i didnt want a super steep heel

It really sounds like they're trying to sneak into the reputation of the Rogue/Pendlay brand Do-Win shoes.

I don't think I'd trust them.

Remember to think of these shoes as an investment. You only wear them for a special purpose, so they'll last a long time. My Rogue Do-Wins are almost four years old I think, and they look a little beat up but work just fine.

Heels vs flats for squatting is more preference than anything. So long as your soles are non compressible and the shoe is supportive, it'll work out well.

I know someone who has them. The build quality doesn't come close to adipowers, power perfects, or romaleos. I think what you're failing to realise is that this is more or less the definition of an investment. Big up front cost, but the more you work out in them the less it turns out to be.

I've run the numbers - you literally spend more per workout on chalk than you do on adipowers, even at $230 (what I paid, got them ages ago).

You have no idea what you're talking about. Their new soles are like an exact 1 to 1 copy of the romaleo's sole now. And you're literally comparing a difference of 0.15" between powerperfects and a standard lifting shoe heel. The difference is negligible.

I have these but only because my GF got them for me as a gift without knowing much about weightlifting shoes so she went with a budget option. They aren't bad shoes but i think i would listen to most peoples' advice and go with a different budget option. I've had them for about a year and a half and they have held up pretty well. i have the blue ones and they are kind of ugly and they run about a half size larger than normal shoes. The main positive is that they're a good all purpose shoe for the gym because they're not uncomfortable to walk around in at the gym so you wont feel the need to bring another pair of shoes. However if you powerlift or oly lift even semi seriously i would not go with these as although they do get the job done id rather have a shoe that is stiffer and has a harder sole. Hope this helps.
