Psychological side to an injury

So I can't run for a while, which translates to I can't apply for the military until A)it's healed and B) I regain fitness

And it's starting to bug me mentally.

I've started to lift and bulk properly, no squats ( ankle Injury )just deadlifts but my buddy never squatted and still gained some muscle and looked better so I know it can be done.

Does anyone have tips with dealin with this side of injury?

Sigh. I'm putting my all Into getting stronger but I am a ectomorph through and through.

I'm eating around 3,500 calories a day and barely seeing a difference in weight.


Meh.
