Tonight I was all pumped in the gym after getting a number close earlier and I just had to use that energy somewhere. Minutes after I started working out, two girls came in the gym and got on the elliptical machines next to me. I started chatting up the one closest to me about how often she comes and whats her goal and so on and she talks and responds and such but she puts on a "friendly smile" and answers like an obedient dog. She'd then ask me back the same questions. So eventually I move off and on to actually working out.
Later on when I'm finished and leaving I bump into them and decided to chat her up again. I asked her if she was finished already and she said yes and asked the same, as expected. She then proceeds to say I should be lifting the heavy weights (40lb Dumbbells) but I said "I can only lift the lower ones". Pretty beta when i think about it now. I saw her frown, so I tried to make up by saying my legs are super strong. Felt like I fucked up there. To keep the conversation going, I asked what school shes from and she did tell me, but proceeds to say "you don't know me" after I flashed a curious expression. (I was really familiar with the school) I asked her if she knew a friend I had from the school, she said she doesn't know anyone and no one knows her. Her responses were starting to disgust me. I went and did something, but I ran into them again on my way out and decided I'd just say something once more. I asked if they're from around here (they were leaving in their gym clothes, people usually changed if they traveled further with public transport) and she said no we're from "far far away". Really wanted to say "what the fuck?". Held it in, gave her the old Obama "Not Bad" Meme face, turned, said "fair enough" and walked away.
I don't know if she was giving me a shit test, not interested in talking or just being a bitch but did I handle that situation well? I feel like there is room for improvement there.
