If I ate only butter at a 1000kcal deficit I would still lose fat (some muscle)
If I at only sugar at a 1000kcal deficit I would still lose fat (some muscle) and the same amount!
If I ate enough protein to get 100gm+ while lifting and get the remainder of my calories (still under 1000kcal deficit) from butter and cane sugar I would still lose fat and maintain muscle.
Person A and B are twins. They lift the same.
Person A eats 100gm protein and lifts but gets his remaining kcal (at a deficit) from butter and cane sugar.
Person B eats 100gm protein and lifts but get his remaining kcal (at a deficit) from "clean" foods.
Who has lost more fat? THEY ARE THE SAME. Person B will outlive Person A but their physique will be the same.
