For discussion of injuries, recovery, and the bad feels that come from fucking your shit up.

>Squatting 5x5
>Third set, third rep, feel things shift tense and pop in my back on the way back up
>Decide to power through and go for fourth rep
>Same shifting tensing and popping, and my form has utterly gone to shit - was swaying and tilting on the way back up
>Abandon current weight, squat a couple sets of about half volume with as perfect form as possible
>Lower back pain
>Do some hyperextensions and good mornings, blow off the rest of the workout, and call it a day

This is the first injury related set back I've had (been lifting for about six months). Aside from the obvious (not doing heavy squats for a while), what should I be doing to recover as ideally as possible? Should I continue my training routine as best as I'm able, or would this impede recovery? And is there anything I should be doing in terms of stretching/flexibility/mobility to prevent this from happening again?
