Lower back sprain/strain help!

No.34700805 ViewReplyReportDelete
6'8 guy here, sprain/strained my left lower back a couple times this year and it's always with squats. Now I know I've used a mirror for a long time so I'm trying to stop using it and focusing on how the squat feels so maybe this change and squatting with how I feel has changed my form so slightly so I backed off on the weight.

My form is perfect recorded, ask a powerlifter in my gym to come check it out and someone with excellent form and they all say it's literally perfect and surprising with my height.

What's confusing me is this lower back strain/sprain? I think it's perhaps I'm not warming it up enough but I don't really know how to outside of a couple of stretches, I don't really do many sets of warm up with the bar either sheerly because I feel it's too light but that's something I'm already taking into future workouts now to warm up with the bar.

What other tips would you guys give for warming up that lower back and stopping this from occuring again, I'm also gonna make my depth a little higher as I squat really low and learn to pull myself into the position rather than sort of drop in at a faster speed which could also be impeding my lower back.

I know my height doesn't help with these things but I know you guys can.

Thanks :)
