Failed my first bench ID ~7 weeks into TM lads, and my ohp hasn't gone up in two weeks either. Should I take out OHP entirely?
I do a 4 day TM and it looks like this:
Monday
3x5 bench
ohp 3x5
dips 3x5
Thursday
3rm bench
Close grip 3x5
Should I change assistance work to sets of 3 or just keep it the same and try for a 2RM instead of 3 on bench?
Need an answer because I'm benching tonight tbh

You're already doing upper/lower? I'd go back to full-body tbqh. If you want to do four days a week split squat/deadlift, not upper/lower. That way you can get in some kind of pressing four days a week.

Week 1 Day 2 down. First early morning workout without caffeine in probably 9 months or so, definitely felt it.

Knees felt gud through squat, happy about that. Pulls were really slow except for the last set. Realized that on the first 4 I was letting the bar get way out in front of me which was fucking me up.

Gonna have to reduce the intensity of Day 2 benching because it was pretty hard and I almost didn't get all my reps, and this is supposed to be an easy week. Glad I'm going through this to learn these tweaks I need to make over the course of the program.

Do you even have a video of a bumper breaking at anywhere near 600lbs? Because by my calculations the force of weight dropping from overhead (a single set of bumpers and bar, no other additional weight) still exceeds that from deadlift height with the additional plates tacked on

but seriously, I kind of almost agree.

burying myself in training to get a desired response isn't fun to me. Sheiko was fun because of the variation, but after accumulation of fatigue, its not really very fun to me.

I think, if I don't fuck up my peaking, dont' fuck up my weight cut, and don't get fucked by stress for my march meet though, I'll probably really enjoy reaping the benefits once its all done.

there's alot of "if's in there though.

cycle 4 minutes warm up

up the intensity and cycle 1 minute like a madman

That's a good way to stretch, and is used commonly in yoga, but I wouldn't do that with any load personally.
One of the best cues I'd use is to puff up your chest with as much air as possible, and stick it out like Johnny bravo, which will really help you arch, and then retract your shoulders

Having a lot of success with 'pull your shoulder blades to the opposite pocket' for squat and bench lads. Never felt more stable on a bench or in the bottom of my squat.
