If you were a young skinny nerd like I was, from say 12-18, you know how it feels to not have a ton of confidence. This is basically how women feel ALL the time, the only difference is that they lack that innate confidence that comes from being able to physically dominate half the population.
As a consequence, they have developed other methods of attracting mates, one of which is constantly being on guard. If you come on too strong without the looks to back it up, you are deemed creepy. But if you are able to penetrate her surface "bitch," and show that you don't care about her only for her sex, she will be much more receptive of you.
Most guys don't understand this, so they come to the conclusion that women don't flirt with them because they're ugly. This will either ruin your confidence, or, if you have high self esteem, this will allow you to flirt unbridled by the want for sex because in you're mind there is NO chance of sex.
This is attractive to women. These 5/10 dad bods are not only approachable but they have realized that sex is not on the table immediately, allowing them to flirt/talk/have fun with a woman without sex being the primary objective.
Girls just want to have fun, which doesn't include jumping straight into sex (unless you're like a 8+/10). Penetrating her outer shield, without it being apparent that you want sex is what will ultimately lead to you penetrating her inner shield (her vagina.)
