The actual reason he squats so low is so he does not get red lighted, at such heavy weight they are extremely ANAL about depth.
Seriously the difference between below parallel and that squat only sacrifices a few lbs, for volume training maybe more, but a 1RM attempt just a few lbs.

It's also a fact that you can squat more if you use the rebound effect you get in the bottom. There'e no benefit to gain from stopping at parallell, if you can go a few cm lower and get a good bounce and momentum.

Do more pulls. Upper back recovers very quickly for some reason. You can potentially get away with training upper back 2-5 days in a row. For instance I was progressing on chinups better when I was doing them 4 times a week, in addition to rows, deadlifts and cleans in the gym.

Balanced training. I do chin-ups are I Overhead press, I do dumbbell rows after I bench.
Make sure all your accessories for front and back are the same rep scheme.

I.e 15 reps of dumbbell bench and then only 10 reps of dumbbell rows is not a good idea.

I remember when one of my life goals was a 405 front squat and I ended up doubling it the first time I put 405 on the bar.

Every gym bro thinks I'm stronk as fuck and those that only talked to me a few times think I'm a psychopath. Every time I take a month off for reasons or injury I come back and make a deadlift pr. My form actually improves too for some reason.

I think they're right m8's. Why can't we ever be happy with our strength?

Well, what do you want to do?

SS is a good general strength program. It's a bit lacking in Bench frequency if your goal is to become a powerlifter, where ideally at the beginning especially, you need more time practicing the lifts rather than just adding weight each session.

Nah. Like a beginner can almost do anything and improve, and OHP (the Press) has its own benefits. It doesn't really hamper progress early on and may help later on. Same with dl being subbed by power cleans

Yes sure. But if your goal is to become a powerlifter, you need to practice the lifts correctly. Not just add weight and risk learning incorrect/inefficient ways to lift and then have to unlearn it later.

That said, 3 days does seem a bit low for a beginner wanting to practice.

Powercleans have 0 carryover to powerlifting other than teaching you to hitch DL's.

Dividing the lifts into smaller bits(deadlift to knees and block pulls for example) make them easier to learn and I think that is what he mean by "expanding the space of learning". Instead of going SS retard mode and getting a half decent squat and a half decent squat technique, you focus on learning the different parts of the squat(keeping tight in the descent, bracing, finding desired grip/stance width etc.) and thus set yourself up for a smother ride long term.

Lads, my hips are feeling rekt. I can't push with my legs in a wide position, they tend to close which makes me shift the weight to the front.

Let it recover, try doing a variation that doesn't trigger the hips so much. Sumo or Squat?

If Sumo, try conventional or Block pulls, the floor is the most harsh on hip flexers.

If Squats try some narrow stance/highbar/bulgarian split squats etc.

A voting system which is good for posts, shitty for comments. Basically you can just share links, videos, self posts and the most liked is seen by everyone.

There's also moderation, which personally I'm not a fan of, so if I do get it I'm not gonna be strict at all.

I usually dont lose much or anything. Nationals was a shitshow for other reasons, infected thumb(and the following illness), arriving 20min before warmup at the venue, 9.5hour drive severely sleep deprived etc etc etc

Not eating solid meals can help you(the food you store in your stomach has weight, by eating less you're limiting the amount of food that's in your system by weigh in). Also if you're desperate, you can eat sour candy and stuff like that before weigh in to produce extra saliva and spit away a pound.

I'd experiment and see what movement I could do that closest resembles the movement I want without aggravating the issue. For ex, if my hip flexors were FUCKED i'd do some Conventional DL/Block Sumo Pulls and knees forward squats. Maybe even leg press.

Keep moving it though, stretch and get blood flushing the area, don't let it settle and stiffen, never good. Also remember, tightness in one area might not be directly a result of a problem with that area, it could be a mechanism to prevent use/protect a connected area.
