I have a question fit,

I'm 5'11 and about 230 lbs. Today I've walked for about 7 kilometers - that is, from cold turkey, I haven't done any sports since years.

What, if any, kinds of health benefits did I acquire from this feat? What if I were to continue exercising, but instead of walking I'd do gymnastic stuff instead?
