Hey /fit/, please criticize my logic...
I have been trying to lose weight in the last 3 months and I am glad to say that I managed to lose 15KGs approximately(Water and constant weight reading changes). I read thru various sources online that lifting burns a shitload of calories so I straight away stopped rocking the treadmill and followed the Icecream 5x5 Program. My University Coach told me that what I was doing was wrong and I should just stick to cardio. I told him about what I read online and he agreed about it but told me that you will develop Muscles and you won't notice any changes in your weight readings which might cause Demotivation. Now...
Here is the Logic part, for example. I Squat 35Kgs 5x3 ( The guide said that I should decrease the sets if I am cutting). If I increase my reps from 5 to 8-9 and stay at it for like 2 weeks without increasing the Weights...will I burn more calories and develop less muscles because my body got used to it and will likely just burn the calories instead of developing more muscles ?
Any constructive criticism is more then welcome.
