YouTube is [spoiler:lit]dead[/spoiler:lit]. When Google let everyone earn money from their videos (can't remember the exact date, it exploded ~2010 though), money became the reason people started a YT channel. And all the existing channels turned to shit because it'd earn them more dough.
And ads are cancer. There's no way around it. I don't care who the fuck you are.

ads are worth next to nothing these days because of all the garbage content people shit out to maximize ad impressions. back in 2005 you could run a site and pull a decent profit off one standard banner ad. These days the relative ad value is something like 1/8th to 1/10th what it was simply because of inflated ad impressions from these garbage content websites.

For me at least, I've started using youtube less and less.
Back in the day, I could spend an evening just constantly watching related videos, constantly clicking on the next and the next and the next.

I haven't done that in a long time, I don't want to bother any more, my computer already has too much trouble with youtube.
