Going from Win7 Ultimate 64bit to Win10 Enterprise LTSB 64bit, yeah.
It is more responsive.
Uses less resources.
Boots faster.
Some programs/games run better.

ummm here's some news for you pal, some people literally have no choice in whether they use Windows or not, whether it be because of work, or that they are the 'computer geniuses' of their family and are constantly having to work on the shifty PCs of friends and relatives. It's nice to know shit about the OS that can minimize headaches. Of course I'm assuming you are a basement dwelling neckbeard who has no job, or loved ones, so you won't understand. Believe me though, I don't personally use Windows, and would love it if that shit didn't fucking exist at all.

Still it makes me smirk when people just think that the only thing where Linux can't replace Windows is games. That's actually having more progress on linux than what's actually productive.

Thanks, anon. I'm not the one you were replying to but I bookmarked your links. I'm not on Enterprise but I changed my PeerBlock settings and holy shit a bunch of things Microsoft-related are showing up as blocked, so thanks again!
FYI I also noted that when adding the Bogon list in the manager, I couldn't access 4chan anymore.

no point in this, you'll just get the equivalent of the Windows 7 Home Edition

You cannot upgrade to Enterprise LTSB (think of it as Windows 7 Ultimate)
You can to download the ISO
Make a bootable USB flash drive
Install
Use MTK to fully activate

Yeah dude, just look into the source code. So many of you faggots look into the source code of everything you use that it takes a decade for massive backdoors or bugs to be found in the most widely used Linux software that affects all desktop and server users.

Sure, a modified Win10 is amazing, with the proper modifications & settings, you have an extremely upgraded Win7.

You can fix this by using TinyWall or Peerblock to block connections from Cortana. This will kill any search lag.
You can also use any number of programs to delete the file on reboot, or replace the file with a dummy read-only file.
However I suggest just disabling it in your group policy editor & then blocking connections from it via TinyWall.

Install LTSB
Run the enterprise script
Install TinyWall, whitelist what programs you want to connect online
Install Peerblock, enable the block lists you want (mainly microsoft) & whitelist what you want to allow
Use customization tools like Winaero Tweaker & Classic Shell to further customize the general appearance of your OS

I formated my computer yesterday. Installed W7 again.

I was curious about W10, but the debloating, spy blocking and shit seemed like too much of a pain in the ass for me.

Also I won't have many time to use the computer from now so I rather stick with something I'm familiar.

Am I missing much for not using 10?

A few features that you will either not care about or use on a daily basis depending on what you work with.

Games? If your GPU doesn't support DX12 it's not really going to get better, but if it does it's convenient.

Random shit like workspaces, if you use those.

Window snapping now allows you to snap windows to corners, and if you have 2 or more monitors, you can still use the feature with extended desktops. It's pretty neat.

You get a notification bar that sometimes works. Sometimes.

Universal mouse wheel scrolling, so you don't have to use something like KatMouse anymore.

More of the default programs that come with every version of Windows have been updated, so you have a calculator that looks more consistent if you even care about that

Them icons are different without having to rely on icon packs

Really small details, honestly.

Well looks like gaming would be the big deal. No worries about that, just removed my gpu today because I no longer play.

The 2 monitors stuff is interesting, but I only use the second one to watch movies ocasionally.

the pastebin that stops telemetry and such in the OP seems very small. I swear I have read other guides that include significantly more stuff you need to block. I think it was something called a HOSTS file or something, stuff you have to block at the firewall because you can't delete it.

No, thats pointless, TinyWall or Peerblock is more effective. The hosts file is ignored by many applications anyways.
