I have made a web app that simulates that "Choose your own adventure" books. You can read and also write your own stories.

https://adventurecave.herokuapp.com/

Would you take a look at it, and give me some feedback.

Apple Watch

No.51092278 ViewReplyReportDelete
Hey /g/

I recently got myself an iPhone 6S+, 128 GB in Space Grey.

I own an iPad Air 2, Mac Pro (8 Core one) and a Macbook Pro (15 inch) so I'm pretty intregated in the apple ecosystem.

Before all the 'omg apple fanboy' comments start rolling in I'm a professional Video and Photo editor and I find Macs / Apple products to be the best for my job, hence why I invested in the Mac Pro (got it in Summer 2014).

However, I recently did a job and got a decent amount og money for it and I am considering investing in an Apple Watch (not the sport, the standard) and it'll cost me ~$750.

Is it worth it? Where else should I put my money if no (technology wise)?

Is the G4 still a good buy at ~$400?

The budget phones (OnePlus X, Nexus 5X) and new flagships (Nexus 6P, Xperia Z5 Premium) seem interesting but I just want value for money whilst having flagship specs.

Is 1080p too dated now?

No.51095226 ViewReplyReportDelete
My primary computer is my laptop. I'm pretty poor so I can't afford anything fancy but I could at this point in time buy a 1920x1080 monitor in the 21.5" - 27" range (If I splurge)... But is it kind of a pointless buy at this point?

I feel like 1440p and even 4K monitors are about to start going down in price by a lot, and that a year from now my monitor will be a piece of shit that I paid too much for. If I risk my future ability to pay rent and eat well I could probably get a 25" 2560x1440 monitor - but would that be worth it when it looks like 4K is going to become the new "1080p"?

I guess what I'm asking is... Is 1080p a waste of money at this point?

If Windows 10 reintroduced the Classic theme with GPU acceleration, would you upgrade from Windows 7?

So is there any logical reason to spend more than $300 on a monitor if you're not gaming or doing some 3D rendering or whatever?
