its a good phone, theres no denying that, but its weird that it hasnt really gone down in price at all even with the release of the next generation

i would just get the Z5 or Z5C at this point

They haven't gone down in price at all, in fact, they went up.
Why? Because the Z5 and Z5C are expensive pocket heaters.

Sony kind of dealt with the 810 by adding a second heatpipe. Still throttles but it's difficult to notice unless you're gaming.
