Engineering Samples
They are used for extensive testing and they're not the final product so you're not getting the finished product. Those samples are Intel property so they're not supposed to be sold.

They don't really sell engineering samples because they're not guaranteed to work exactly right. Either the employees take some home or they throw them out or reclaim the materials in them. The more enterprising and resourceful chinks wait outside the plant for someone to toss stuff out and whatever they find they sell online or in a makeshift stand a few feet away. Usually it's just defective flash memory chips though

The cost of rebranding a CPU is incredibly low. Rebranded a Athlon X2e CPU with "Phenom II X6" and all necessary markings is childs play if you have a print shop with a screen printer, and some labor to remove the old markings prior.
