I doubt it would be worthwhile for then at this point in time, would be very costly. The future seems to be in low power mobile CPU's anyways.

As a former malware/RE analyst, x86 can't die quick enough. The decode engine alone makes it impossible for x86 to operate on par with arm chips in the same power bracket assuming all things otherwise equal.

How is that a problem? x86 can't live long enough imo.

Binary compatibility between desktops and smartphones/tablets would be of very limited use, since they rely on completely different input systems.
