What are the benefits of having a graphics card if I have no intention of playing video games? Will there be a noticeable boost in performance since my CPU will no longer be providing the integrated graphics?

The "integrated graphics" are literally a GPU on your CPU die. It's not the 90s anymore. The only reason you would need a big graphics card these days is if you're running enough monitors that your internal GPU is straining.

Depends on what kind of software you use. Some video editing and other creative software take advantage of more powerful graphics cards for rendering purposes.

However, if nothing you're doing is graphics intensive, then you don't need a card.

my q8200 can barely play 1080p on Youtube. No 60fps at all. Meanwhile my Windows Phone with unofficial app can do 4k 60fps no problems
Don't know how they fucked up so badly on their website. Every time they change it it takes more ressources. I used to be able to play 4k when it came out. Now 1080p slows my computer down so fast I can barely change it

Many professional programs use GPU acceleration, like pretty much everything Adobe does, as well as other photo processing programs. In 3D modeling and animation, with a Titan X you can have 12GB of assets being rendered in real time.
A lot of video rendering programs also use the GPU.
