So I just bought an iPod Video 30GB 5.5 Generation for about $50. Last iPod I owned was a shuffle when it originally came out. Was looking at things I could do to it already and wanted to get a clear housing and possibly a new HD and battery.

Problem is that supposedly the 30GB has less space inside I assume than the higher memory versions? But the battery difference is too big to ignore and I assume getting a bigger HD would need the extra space.

Basically, can I just get the housing for the higher capacity models and put it on my basic capacity model? Are there any major differences except the space inside?
