>>51015291here's my general problems with them.
laptops tend to be unchanging, its not easy to fix one when they break down - and running games at their max settings is bound to cause some heat related problems
by extension, its also not easy, and in some cases impossible, to upgrade them.
they're more expensive than what youd be paying for a desktop
the keyboard isnt right for gaming, and then you have the distance between you and the screen by having two keyboards infront of you.
and then you have the issue of having to carry a mouse with you, because a touchpad isnt going to do it unless you bring along a controller.
and then theres the screensize, you could hook it up to a monitor but then whats the point?
they tend to be heavier than common laptops, their lifespan seems stunted, and their purpose is confusing.
who takes their laptop around to play high end games? at best, I might play some kind of puzzle game, but usually im using my laptop for work, movies, and light gaming. one time i installed FFXI on my old laptop, that worked, but thats also not a high end game. and i only played it at school to do my crafting and NM camping.
really, theres just no need for them. they're simply inferior to desktops in raw power, and plain laptops in price and portability.
