We're setting up a 50" TV as an Android device in our conference room that we can use to demo apps to a room full of clients. My boss asked if it was possible to integrate it with the native caller application to make/receive calls as well but this seems to be tricky.
I have two ways in mind to go about this.
1) Use a USB 3G Dongle (with Voice support) so that the native caller can use that to register itself with a GSM network.
2) Set up a separate Asterisk server with a GSM gateway and then modify the native caller application to use SIP instead of GSM.
Anyone have any better ideas or any advice for me?
