Hey /g/
My dad got himself one of those small x86 tablets not too long ago (pic related). One day he's working with it fine, plugs the usb charger and it shuts down. After a week of trying to fix it himself, he gives up and sends me this thing. I opened it and unplugged/plugged the battery cable.
To my surprise it worked, but Windows seems to think there's no such thing as a battery and there's no indicator at all. I try to use another charger with the thing and the same thing happens: it shuts down instantly. I can turn the tablet on again by doing the same process with the battery.
So, do you think the microUSB port (which is the only way to charge the battery) is just fucked enough that the motherboard needs to be replaced, or is there anything else I could try?
