I don't usually post on /g/ but every time I see people being "disappointed" about SSD's it makes me rage. I can't understand you faggots. You do realize that all hard drives do is read and write? All SSDs do is improve the rate in which data is recieved into RAM and saving shit to it. Its not going to magically make your fucking computer a dick sucking powerhouse. If your computer is literally shitty enough to where it wont benefit from an SSD then thats on you. Newer computers benefit from it more than older ones simply because it can retrieve the data and process it fast enough. Which of course heavily depends on if you're using a program that needs to load and save tons of data constantly.

anyone who doesn't immediately notice the difference probably just isn't very quick. going from hdd to ssd was almost as massive as going from single-core to dual-core. how did we put up with single-cores for so long?

honestly would be storing all my data on solid state if it were affordable. tired of mechanical drives adding half a minute to boot times, losing data or having to do tedious data migration because they wear out quickly. not that ssds can't be shitty too, but at least i don't have to worry about an ssd being shipped to me DOA like 99% of mechanical hard drives.
