Hey /g/ I am a bit of a moron when it comes to tech stuff I suppose

I was wondering what the difference is between my 4k option under PC and under ULTRA HD in my nvidia control panel

It seems that under PC it has 4k at 60hz but under the ULTRA HD 4k it will only go up to 30, I can't even seem to make a custom resolution because it recognizes the PC 4k as the only one I can seem to make

Is there a difference or am I a moron

Monitor is asus pb287q in display port 1.2

GPU is a GTX 780

Appreciate input, this is my first 4k monitor so I just want to have everything squared away

Whats your question?
ULTRA HD is a 4k tv standard - that's why it mostly comes with 30fps.

I don't understand your question. You already stated the difference.

Sorry like I said I don't really understand all this stuff, I was curious if since I can only achieve the 60fps under where it says PC vs under ULTRA HD if I am losing out on something extra, or if this is as good as I can get out of the monitor.

Im wondering is there a way for it to be ULTRA HD at 60hz or is that meaningless

4k is ULTRA HD 4k

There is no difference except that ULTRA HD is a TV standard with most of the time lower hz/fps.

Just set it to 4k/60hz.

DisplayPort 1.2 should be able to do that.

Right on, I have it set at 60 under the PC list since I suppose there is not difference

One last question while I actually have someone around though, it seems I cannot under any circumstance have it at 4k 60hz while I have my second monitor plugged in and the displays extended, the second monitor is a CrossOver 290M 29" LG IPS Ultra-Wide monitor and with that on at the same time it seems the monitor wont go 60hz no matter how I fiddle around with it

Is that something I can fix or is that just how it is when extending monitors.

I don't think your GPU can handle 2x high resolution screens at 60hz. I didn't check though - you could do that.

When it's just the one screen I can run 4k 60hz under the pictured PC list, but only 30hz on the list above that has ultra hd 4k x2

And if I have my second monitor on and setup extended, there is no option anywhere for me to have 60hz on the 4k even if I try a custom resolution the 4k monitor will just black out during testing and not be able to be used.
