There's a fork that uses websockets and the dev hosts an f-droid repo. I haven't had chance to test it with another textsecure user yet. I'll try to find it, or maybe someone else can link it.

I hope that one day CyanogenMod can have working "whisperpush" (textsecure) built in that DOESN'T need Gapps. It's kind of pointless having the functionality in the gapps-free builds.

The main beef in this article from 2013 is "b-but it's not TRIED AND TESTED", and while I agree that Telegram *should* update its protocol (at least to make it updateable), the fact is they have had other "contests" since then with progressively more and more "power" in the hands of those attempting to win them.

IDK my current issues with Telegram are that the official desktop client doesn't have the Secret Chats, that there's no "secret group" option (limit the number of members if you must, this feature would be useful!), and maybe for the future "call" (or even video call) functionality.

The main beef in the article is that if you capture enough data, and you have an idea of what some of it might contain (which is often the case with text) , then brute forcing the cipher text gets easier. With all these minor issues with the scheme, it's pretty odd they don't simply implement OTR.

Thats why I use Aptoide.
I refuse to use Google play service because I feel it is literally botnet which just increases heat even at idle time and also becomes bigger and bigger over time.

Also autism of fdroid developers leads to many apps being outdated(Telegram,K9mail,etc...)
Aptoide's alternative repos also has many pirated apps.But there are chances of viruses there.

It has the slowest page loading times out of all Android browsers.

using plumble with a murmur server is an easy way to get encrypted voice calling, compared with setting up a SIP abomination like asterisk.

When is someone going to make a screen that's 1440p or more, has adaptive refresh rates, supports ≥120Hz, doesn't look like someone vomited into a plastic casing and called it video output, and isn't so massive as to break most desks under its sheer weight?
