I just have installed Lubuntu on a old machine that a neighbor gave me. So I realized how it looked like shit.

This DE is ugly, icons are terrible and everything is so faggy.

So I installed XP and it looks better now, also it's fast too.

You Linux guys needs better designers.

how much performance will we sacrifice by making DE look good? I'm not talking about fancy animations. Menu alone looks so Windows 98-ish. Everything looks so large. Personally all I really needed to do with Lubuntu on my netbook was slap on a wallpaper, replace the menu button with something nicer (Ubuntu logo), make the bar transparent and install Numix icons.
