Samsung has been aggressively poaching AMD's Austin TX design engineers for the last few years now, and that's why the Exynos is no longer shit.

Look on LinkedIn, all of the Samsung engineers at their Austin design centre are ex-AMD.

After Su canned Keller's K12 ARM design it was only time before he moved to an ARM focused company.

I highly doubt Apple will swing in any direction or "Suicide watch" from this, because people don't buy Apple for pure specs alone. This being said I think iPhone 6s will be my last Apple made phone.

This too. Any android phone with 8 cores destroys the iphone 6s in multi-core performance. Most of these android phones use an A53+A57 config. Imagine when manufacturers make 8 core A72 chip and put it on an Android phone. We should also see 10-12 core android phones too.

All that power and it will still most likely be $200-400 cheaper than the iphone 7 or whatever the fuck apple comes up with next.

They literally had like 5% ipc improvement from the a8 to the a9. So the dumbasses over at apple decided "MOAR GHZ!" was the solution on a fucking phone. Now people are walking with fucking fire hazards in their pockets. The overheating iphone 6s isn't a meme, the chip literally becomes so scorching hot it disables the camera flash. The A9 literally overheats and while I admit the snapdragon 810 was a house fire on the first few phones the overheating problem has been fixed on new 810 chips. Also that's why you only buy phones with exynos chips.

If we look at it one way, the A9 is like the GT-R's V6 engine, as opposed to V8/V10 muscle car engines of the Firedragon 810. A9 uses larger cores with less hertz while the 810 just tries to push through with brute force.

This isn't conjecture or shilling either, literally every other IC manufacturer except Intel measures their size the same way. From RAM, NAND manufacturers to ARM SoC and GPU fabs.
Only Intel has their own wishy-washy marketing measurement system.

Former AMD designer said the process made 20% larger chips with 20% less performance than hand designed logic.
