>>51021875Flat design is the natural evolution of UI. When GUI's were first introduced, they needed analogues to the real world so the general population could understand them. Now that people are familiar with computers, design can become more simple, flat and minimal like we see today. As for where design trends will go, I think we'll start to see some things like gradients and textures return. Google's material design is a prime example.
