4chan trip code algorithm has changed / broken

It's not just me right?

tripcodes display as intended on other chans and test sites but here they output different or no trip at all.

Have non-ASCII tripcodes ever worked on Futallaby, though? They were as broken as Shiitchan's in the code I saw.

Looks like it's passing UTF-8 to crypt instead of converting input to Shift JIS like it should be, the way Shiichan did. I'd expect #6ﾄ-eVpdI to be !DTzQ/mPdf6 in that case, I don't know what's happening there.
