Currently i have a build of:

Intel i5 4690k
Gigabyte Z97P-D3
Nvidia GTX 275
8GB RAM
Corsair hx 750w
Samsung ssd 840 evo 250gb
Caviar Black WD5001AALS
Coolermaster Cosmos
on a VG248QE 24" monitor

I found a site that offers various 280x cards around 190-220 euro, vendors of Gigabyte, Club3D, MSI, PowerColor, VTX3D.

Is the 280x good with my build, or are there better options? Any recommendations for vendor?

Discard the 280x, get a 380/960 4g version for the same price(200-230) or wait half a year for 10xx/4xx series. Also depending on your zone you may get a 290 seconhanded for 250~~.
Recomended vendors: msi,shappire,asus,evga, gigabyte

Do NOT buy a low end GPU. Ever. You're just pissing money away for shitty performance. You already have a pretty solid configuration (bar the multimedia oriented GPU). Save up for at least a 390, which is has the best performance/$ ratio on the market.
