Hey g I need help I bought a computer from a pawnshop. It still has a password, but the thing is I don't have an installation disc to reset the computer nor do I have a password reset disk. Do you know how to reset a password for Windows 8

I already looked on Google could not find soulution

I know of a simple solution for this, but considering you're unable to download a Windows ISO and figure out how to reinstall Windows in the first place, you'll be entirely unable to follow through on this too.

I know you're lying because I work at a pawn shop and we won't take any computers with a password, we make the person type it in and remove it. If they can't provide the password is definitely stolen

Please note that in setup, to properly boot into your usb, you may have to put the BIOS in "Legacy Mode", which will then give you your "F9 for Setup" prompt. After resetting your windows password all you need to do is shift it back out of legacy mode to properly access your OS again.

1. Make a Xubuntu livecd with either an actual cd (download iso, burn to disc) or with a usb drive (unetbootin).

2. Boot into the livecd. Modify bios boot order if you need to.

3. Use a file manager to open the drive where windows is installed.

4. Go to \windows\system32 and make a copy of cmd.exe and sethc.exe

5. Delete the original sethc.exe and rename a cmd.exe to be sethc.exe

6. Reboot into windows.

7. Press shift like a thousand times.

8. In the command prompt type:
net user administrator diabeetus

9. Then type:
net user administrator /active

Congrats, you can now boot into windows with the user name administrator and password diabeetus.
