How would you improve your career in a technology related field? I know this is a broad question but I specifically did that because I hope this thread would help others as well.

So in this thread, maybe say how you go into your career and how you improved yourself?

Right now I work as a standard computer technician for a bank. What I am trying to do to improve myself is.. doing some work with linux. Ideally I would like to be a linux sys admin. Anyone have any tips on that by the way?
