Also all linux DEs are garbage and obstacles to work in general. You'll never have anything that just werks. They're all either buggy and more resource hungry than windows (lol kde, enlightenment, cinnamon), shitty (xfce, mate, and lxde aren't DEs, they're collections of shitty programs. their users end up replacing everything but the WM or the panel) or missing functionality because the dev prioritized their "philosophy" over practicality for users (lol gnome) - because why make software for free if you're not engaged in an egotistical pursuit like having the world acknowledge the superiority of your own methods?
If you use linux, your best bet is to just cobble together your own shit from the start. It's what you'll end up doing anyways just trying to get basic shit windows and OS X has by default like "stability" and "common desktop features everyone uses to some extent"
