would it be possible to design a hardware clone of an old console and install it in a PC via PCIe?
Are there SoCs that already do something similar?

considering this is only really feasible for older consoles, just using the chips they were actually made with would be easier and cheaper.

you could probably do it with newer consoles to, but it would be a big project, and outside the realm of something even an experienced person could likely do on their own.
