What is your favorite flavor of Linux?
I honestly havent tried Linux but im making the jump very soon, thinking of Mint or something similar. I like other ones like Arch, but are just too complex for anybody that hasnt messed around with Linux before.

no, it has nothing but outdated software in the repos. and i mean outdated, not just 'hurr durr ubuntu gets updates two months later because they do some testing'

My personal favorite is Ubuntu. Yeah, everybody frowns when reading this, but I have some Arch (and Arch-forks) and RHEL background and Ubuntu just feels "comfortable". It's easy to install and works out-of-the-box.

Recently I've been dabbling in Debian and it feels just as "comfortable" (well d'oh, seeing as Ubuntu used to be a Debian fork), but it's not as easy to install and configure, so it might intimidate newcomers. It's really cool that it's compatible with both RPM and DEB packages.
