linuxfag here. i know basically nothing about proprietary operating systems.

i've acquired a macbook pro. i have a windows 7 disk lying around. my goal is to have both os x and windows 10 on the macbook, preferably a clean install of windows 10.

what's the best way of doing this? this was my plan but i'm not sure if it will work: install windows 7 with boot camp, upgrade it to 10, delete the windows 10 partition, install windows 10 (again but clean this time) with boot camp using the windows 10 install media that got created during the upgrade process.

my concern is that i've been told windows 10 doesn't use a serial, it uses a key or some shit with uefi. i have no experience with uefi (i've only installed only machines with bios). in theory i've been told, the windows 10 clean install should work without needing me to put in a serial because it reads the key that is now permanently local to my machine, i'm told.

will my plan work? sorry for the long post i just don't want to fuck it up and lose my legal copy of windows
