>>51039861The problem is that we have no competition in ISP markets. In real-world land, if an ISP went and cut my animu stream, or tried to censor what content I could access, I could switch to another provider. AND, the great thing is, ISP's would be naturally resistant to doing so in the first place, since they know it would lose them customers.
Hell, you could even have a moralfag/christfag/whateverfag ISP that advertises how they block "offensive" content, you could have a Satanic Edition ISP that blocks everything except motherless, freenet and tor traffic. But easily the most common would be a "unrestricted" ISP that simply give you uncensored access at a pre-contracted amount of bandwidth and allows you to set your own QoS rules within that bandwidth in case you're a netflixfag.
But we can't have all that, because a free market in ISP's does not exist. That has been regulated out of existence by local municipalities.
The problem isn't "dah free markets", Netflix, or even your ISP, really. It's the fucks down at your friendly local city hall.
