VMs on laptop

Sup /g/ents.
My big brother has got 2K yurobucks to spend on a laptop he will use for heavy tasks.
Once we're clear that laptops are shit, and especially so for hard-hitting tasks like virtualization, how should I blow those grands without getting fucked too much?
Prebuilt? Customized aftermarket laptop? Surface memebook? Should I go for the latest gen of i7 or will the fourth suffice?

Pls help, I love my brother and I know nothing about VMs and latest CPU tech

Get a actual good rig and not some underpowered laptop,unless you wait for that asus that is coming out which allows overclocking

I use a 15" rMBP from 2013 with VMWare Fusion 8, I have a VM or 2 open at all times fans barely blow even while playing games like Fallout or Morrowind. For shits and giggles I compared native video encoding at the performance was really close, I'd say operating at 80% or higher. Most of my work is not that heavy, probably compiling is the most intensive thing I do in VM's.

Building a laptop is a bad, bad idea. Also don't ever buy barebones laptops like Sager and Clevo. If you don't want a mac then get an enterprise laptop from Lenovo, Dell or HP - I've only used their workstations but they are super reliable. Surface memebook has a shit CPU and you are paying for a gimmick not a work machine.
